Dr. Saad Alafnan is an associate professor in the petroleum engineering department at KFUPM. He has served as a faculty member of the petroleum engineering department since 2017. He received his B.S. in chemical engineering from KFUPM in 2011, his M.S. in petroleum engineering from University of Southern California in 2014, and his Ph.D in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University in 2017. Dr. Alafnan’s research addresses different aspects of hydrocarbons production from shale formations considering the multiscale transport mode and the geomechanical factors. He published more than 60 journal articles, several patents, and participated in regional and international conferences.
