Dr. Marianna Yiannourakou is the Senior Director of Product Management at Materials Design, where she leads strategic product development initiatives while leveraging her expertise in property prediction of fluids and soft matter systems through classical molecular simulations.

Prior to working at Materials Design, Dr. Yiannourakou conducted postdoctoral research at IFP (now IFPEN), where she investigated the rheological properties of aqueous polymer solutions, particularly aqueous polyacrylamide solutions relevant to enhanced oil recovery (EOR) applications using molecular simulation techniques.

Marianna holds a PhD from the Department of Material Science and Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, Greece & Molecular Modeling of Materials Laboratory, National Research Center for Physical Sciences (NRCPS) "Demokritos", Greece. Her thesis work includes "Thermodynamic, Structural and Dynamic Properties of Soft Materials Using Coarse-Grained Simulations" (Yiannourakou, Economou, & Bitsanis, 2009, 2010).

During her Marie Curie Fellowship at CECAM, she explored membrane-mediated protein-protein interactions using coarse-grained system descriptions and Monte Carlo simulations. Her academic foundation includes a Master's Degree in Polymer Science from the Faculty of Chemistry, School of Sciences, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, and a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the School of Chemical Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, Greece.
