Dr. Lindsay Roy

Principal Scientist
Dr. Lindsay Roy

Dr. Lindsay Roy is a principal scientist in the Advanced Modeling, Simulation, and Analytics group of the Digital Transformation Directorate at the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL).

Dr. Roy’s research focuses on comprehensively modeling inorganic materials, specificallyon f-element chemistry.

She received her Ph. D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Texas A&M University and was a Glenn Seaborg Postdoctoral Fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory before joining SRNL.

Dr. Roy is currently involved in a diverse set of research projects, including research into the thermodynamics and kinetics of the TALSPEAK process, exploring alternative oxidants for plutonium oxide production, and signature persistence of unique materials.  In addition to her modeling work, she has also acted as the SRNL plant liaison for the computational modeling effort at Savannah River Site.  She has extensive experience in electronic structure theory of molecules and solids, charge and energy localization and transport in molecularly engineered electronic materials, strongly correlated materials, magnetism and magnetic materials, catalysis, and highly energetic materials.
